Backyard Cottage: Autumn 2018

This 600 square foot accessory dwelling unit was completed in late October 2018. It was designed specifically to accommodate our client aging in place.

Living away from her adult kids and grandchildren just didn’t make sense anymore for our client. But downsizing and leaving her house with all its memories was also a big concern. Working with Inspired Independence, the team designed a small home that accommodates special furniture pieces while creating generous space for everything to fit in its own place. Natural lighting and tall ceilings make her new home feel spacious without sacrificing coziness.
